৪ ফেব্রুয়ারি রোজ রোববার দিনাজপুর জেলার বীরগঞ্জ উপজেলার  ৮ নং ভোগনগর ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের পশ্চিম পাশে আজ সকাল আনুমানিক ৭ টা ৪৫ মিনিটে ঢাকা - পঞ্চগড় মহাসড়কে কোচ - ট্রাকের মুখামুখি সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটেছেন। স্থানীয়রা জানায়,  পঞ্চগড় থেকে ছেড়ে আসা একতা এক্সপ্রেস ও রংপুর থেকে ছেড়ে আসা একটি ১০ চাকার ট্রাকের  মধ্যে মুখামুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। এ ঘটনায় অন্তত আনুমানিক  ২৫ থেকে ৩০ জন আহত হয়। আহতদের স্থানীয় লোকজনরা বীরগঞ্জ উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে ভর্তি করেন। দুর্ঘটনার কারণে মহাসড়কে ১ ঘণ্টা যান চলাচল বন্ধ থাকে। পরে বীরগঞ্জ থানার কর্মরত এস আই মশিউর রহমানসহ বেশ কয়েকজন পুলিশ সদস্য গিয়ে  রাস্তা ক্লিয়ার করেন। এ ঘটনায় এখন পর্যন্ত নিহত হওয়ার খবর পাওয়া যানি। স্থানীয়রা আরো জানান, রাত থেকে ঘনকুয়াশার করণে এ দুর্ঘটনার ঘটনা ঘটেছে।
